Healing From energy healing and acupressure to crystal work, from herbal remedies to homeopathy, we offer a variety of alternative healing modalities for body, mind, and spirit.
Prophetic Voice There are some among us whose have a positive talent for speaking those hard truths we need to hear. They're called Prophets and their function is to speak to us our "doom": those changes we know we must make, but don't want to see.

Church of the New Renaissance (or CNR, for short) is a "church" unlike any other. CNR:

  • Is non-sectarian. We hold no specific religion or denomination to be superior to any other. Divine Truth repeats again and again throughout all religions; any true seeker can therefore find it no matter what religious or spiritual path they choose to tred.

  • Is non-dogmatic and non-theological. Our truth does you no good what-so-ever. Our job is to help you discover your truth.

  • Is a church without walls. While we do hold classes and workshops and special services for celebrations (see below), we don't have "Sunday go to meeting" worship services where we preach at you from behind a pulpit. The vast majority of our work is done one-on-one, meeting people's needs, and via classes and workshops.

CNR exists to assist the modern mystic: Those who've stepped outside the umbrella of traditional churches on their spiritual journey, and to give them a vehicle through which they, in turn, can help others.

Fees for Service

Neither CNR's clergy, Candidates for Ordination, nor those members who work on behalf of the Church are paid by CNR for their work. Rather, they charge a fee for the service(s) they render.

Normally, a disclosed portion of the fee will requested as a tax deductible donation to CNR itself, and is used to provide scholarships, for Crisis Intervention work, and dozens of other things that it takes to keep the organization running.

If you do not wish to make a donation, or if you wish your donation amount to be different than that customarily requested by the service provider say so! Most service providers will be happy to accommodate you.

While each service provider is free to set their own rate and suggested contribution amount, a sliding scale of $30 - $60 per hour plus expenses is the norm, with grants available from CNR for those who cannot afford to pay even the lower rate. The usual donation amount is $5 -- $10 per hour.

Please keep in mind: Some of our service provides support their families on the fees collected. Dan Wakefield pointed out in his article Do Good, Be Poor (See the Winter Solstice 2000 Issue of the Newsletter): ``I recently paid a computer counselor $125 an hour, which seems to be the going rate in large cities. Does a yoga teacher, spiritual director, or meditation teacher deserve less?''

Ultimately, you get to decide.

Notes:

*  Ordained clergy cannot be made to divulge information given in the confidence of the confessional. The last involate confidential relationship left in America---despite the efforts of some State Governments. return

**  CNR does not consider the gender or number of partners wishing to marry, or the relationship of the partners to each other, to be of consequence. A record of the ceremony's performance is maintained in Church archives. return
