A mentoring relationship can last for weeks or months, sometimes years. It can be a weekly contact, or once a month meetings in a local coffee shop. The rhythm of each relationship is unique; no two are the same. Each must take into account the needs and desires of both mentor and seeker. Most mentor/seeker arrangements involve goal setting, skill building, self awareness training, and will hopefully result in the kind of self discipline that renders the mentor unnecessary.
