Classes and workhops are constantly being scheduled. Watch the News & Happenings column on the home page to see currently being offered. If you don't see the class you're interested in, you can always gather a group of your friends and aquaintences who are interested in the subject and contact the presenter to arrange for times and places. Here's a list of all classes and workshops currently available through CNR. Please note: The fees for all classes and workshops are listed as per session not per person. The cost per person will, therefore, be greater or lesser depending on total class attendence. Or, an individual, business, or civic group may choose to fund the entire course. The Healing Power of Empathy: In this five week course participants will learn the basics of empathy; check out an empathic tool kit; explore the dark side of empathy, and practice techniques to strengthen and clarify their empathic senses. The course concludes with a talk on what it means to identify as an Empath and the work that Empaths are called to do in the world. Attendance: 9 -- 12 persons Labyrinth Walks: The labyrinth has long served as a metaphor for pilgrimage, or spiritual journeying. Its use today as a therapeutic and celebratory device ranges from exercises in workplace stress-reduction, to weddings and handfastings -- and everything in between! Each session with the labyrinth takes 4 - 6 hours (plus set up and take down), and includes a pre-walk presentation and counseling after, if requested. Attendance: 15 person maximum per session Bliss: The Path to Liberation: From the time we're born to the time we die, we live as slaves to the programming of the collective mind. Called the dragon of "thou shalt" by Joseph Campbell, it never occurs to most of us that "the way things are," not only can be changed, but must be changed if we are to discover our own bliss. Atendees make a journey within and discover the path to their own sacred purpose for being. Attendence: 10 -- 15 persons A Modern Mystic's Survival Course: The shock of awakening. Vertigo, reality shifts. Once important things become trivial, and pass away. The lights blinds, the love redeems. Breath-taking power, despairing helplessness, mind numbing hopelessness. All this in the midst of jobs, marriages, mortgages, runny noses, flat tires, and broken plumbing. Is it any wonder mystics go mad? This class is two or three hours of education, sanity, laughter, and support by, for, and about Modern Mystics and Modern Mysticism. Attendance: 10 -- 15 persons Prayer Beads: A Meditation for the Modern Mystic: In this four hour workshop attendees learn about the history prayer beads, the symbolism of 7, the meaning of prayer, and are coached through the creation of a personal set of prayer beads which are based upon the numerous sets of "seven mysteries" that occur across time and culture. It concludes with a guided meditation and suggestions for further contemplations. Attendance: 9 -- 12 persons |
